Note: Using a 3" heart-shaped cutter makes these French Toast slices even more decadent and glamourous. Using pure maple syrup is even better.
6 eggs
1/4 cup whipping cream
1/2 tsp cinnamon
2 tbsp butter, for pans
1 sourdough bread, sliced and crusts removed
2 bananas, sliced
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
1 cup maple syrup
In a small saucepan on low heat, warm syrup with walnuts and banana slices.
Combine eggs, cream, and cinnamon in a large bowl and mix well. Use cookie cutter to cut bread into shapes (hearts for Valentine's Day).
Heat a non-stick pan on medium and add 1 tsp butter. Dunk each bread slice in egg mixture, then place in pan. Cook until browned on one side, then flip over; cook until browned again.
Place on plates, drizzle with banana-walnut syrup. Sprinkle with additional cinnamon if desired, and serve.
