Prosciutto-Wrapped Apples

For those watching their sugar intake, simply bake the apple wedges with the prosciutto!

Makes 4 servings

1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp dry bread crumbs
1/4 tsp red chile flakes
2 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and cut into wedges
16 slices prosciutto, cut in half lengthwise

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 425*F.
  2. In small bowl, combine brown sugar, breadcrumbs and chile flakes.
  3. Dip apple wedges in sugar mixture and wrap a piece of prosciutto around each apple wedge and secure by skewering with a toothpick.
  4. Place on parchment paper-lined baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes or until prosciutto is slightly crisp and sugar has caramelized.
