September 2017
This is obviously one of the trendiest places to dine in the Union Square area.
The place was jammed and full of fashion-forward twenty-somethings, slick urbanites and younger professionals extending their work week with a long evening of small plates and several cocktails.
The menu seems to be quite extensive but since they are mostly smaller bites and plates (tapas style), it is manageable and works well for group dining - if you want to share. 😉
It is a fusion like only New York can produce...the "haute cuisine" style of Jean-Georges Vongerichten meets Latin America...and in small, creative plates.
Make sure to ask the server about how many dishes you should order to start your evening. Depending on what you want to focus on, they will be able to let you know if you have ordered too much or suggest which items to share with someone else.
For the two of us, we shared 5 dishes - including one of the rice dishes, which is a little more filling.
FAV item? Mezcal-Cured Salmon - Light, flavourful, fresh and topped with crunchy potato flakes for texture. I made a note that night to dig out my bottle of mezcal at home to start experimenting!
