This is one of those restaurants that I suggest saving for a special occasion to get the full effect.

Although I noticed a few tables of couples on dates, I think to appreciate all of the detailed work that goes into each plate served, you should be sitting right at the counter to catch the entire show.

Since most of the dishes featured on the menu are unfamiliar too most visitors [including me] this was another time where I thought a tasting menu would be the best bet.

Not only did each plate impress me with its artistry and flavour, but the chosen wine pairings for each course was SO spot on that I was thinking that perhaps each dish was created JUST for that wine.

I think my only critique would be about the timing of serving the tasting menu. There was a point in the evening where they had a large rush (or hiccup) and seem to be behind in the kitchen. We had a long wait between the two of our courses midway through the meal which stalled the progression considerably. Our server were nice enough to come over and check in with us occasionally, but the long wait allowed me too much time to digest and I found myself trying to lean forward and "push through " the remaining part of the tasting menu. I think I would've enjoyed it even more if everything was timed better.

But some things can't be helped!

FAV item? Sakisuke - Apple Foam and Lime Sorbet Scallop, Orange Clam, Trout Caviar - next time, I am going to splurge and upgrade my caviar to Golden Osetra!
