What I liked…
- The downtown location was terrific. Walking distance to many tourist sites of interest, cafes, shopping and more.
- The lobby, reception and cafeterias were all lovely and well-serviced. (The restaurant looked nice as well, but we didn't get a chance to visit.)
- I liked the wood floors in the room instead of classic carpeting. Much easier to move suitcases around and less opportunities for allergies.
- Self-parking is in the same building (lower level).
What I didn’t like so much…
- The air conditioning is controlled by hotel only. There are in-room controls, but were told that the A/C had been switched off (and the heat turned on!) because some guests found it too cool in the building overall. We were told NOT to touch the thermostat in the room or it would have put out heat instead of cold. (That day was 18C - which is balmy for a Canadian.)
- No shampoo in the bathroom - only a pump wall-mounted dispenser with something labelled "Soap H60" (or similar).
- Bathroom was a bit small, no place for storage and no counter space.
- Old-style wall-mounted hair drying system that takes twice as long as newer, lighter models.
- Window in the room wad screwed shut on our fourth floor room...which didn't help us alleviate the lack of air conditioning.
Needless to say, the hotel was nice enough but I couldn't stay any longer than 1 night without air conditioning. We moved into another hotel in a nearby town for the 2nd nights stay instead.
